My 2o year old house has a Trion electronic air filter on the furnace (heat pump). My hunch is that these older units are not very effective and don't the air very well.

Anyone with experience? Would you recoomend updating to a newer unit or just using a wide regular filter instead?

Osgoodr, I would make a check list running down the parts of the following site to see if all are changed and working well, and if the problem insists change to a newer model.
