I recently purchased a 21 foot superboat with a 225 envinrude engine dated somewhere in the 1980s. It has a quicksilver 24 pitch prop. When i took it out for a ride it only did 48mph at full throttle. I am not really sure where to begin trouble shotting- It does also have a rebuilt powerhead and seems to sound real strong but does not put out the performance- any ideas? all ideas very much appreciated

Gearhead welcome to the forum I hope you will like it here.

I heard a 3 blade will provide more speed (power) - is this something you could look into it?
