I'm looking to build a half scale replica of the gokstad. I find that ship beautiful due to the cleanliness of the design. Big enough for a mast, but still small enough to put on a trailer when neccesary

I don't have the funds yet, but I have been offered to have trees from a friend who has 30 acres of land with sitka spruce and douglas fir. Not traditional woods for norse vessel, but still good boat building woods.

thank you again for your response. I've had your site bookmarked for a long time, but don't have the skill, time, or resources to undertake even the smaller canoe size project right now.

thanks again
Brian
