Turn on Set

It takes q2uuite a few pushes on the power on button before the television comes on.

Sounds like the button itself is possibly the problem, assuming that once it come on it stays on, and that nothing else seems to be the problem. If it exhibits the same difficulty turning on w/ the remote, then you probably have a different problem though.

Diagnosing is relatively simple, simply ohm out the button while you are giving it 'normal' 'closed' pressure. If the ohms drop to near zero during normal operation, and are maintained consistently while you are pressing the button, and 'wiggling/jiggling' doesn't cause intermittent opens (are significant changes in ohms), then the problem may be a bit deeper.
