is it ok to use stop leak for a coolent leak. its not a big leak as it seams to slowly leak out over weeks. it seams to be coming from a rusty pipe near the holding tank

I don't get that question You mean using a coolant leak to stop the leaking instead of a stop leak? Why don't you change the pipe?

Well if you use the stop leak be ready for an overheating problem too, cause it not only stops the leak but it also clogs other vital components in the radiator.
