Does any one know how to adjust the voltage at whitch an APC Smart-UPS floats its batteries? Their factyory default at room temperature seems to be about
2.33V/cell, which exceeds the manufacturer-r...
You have to know the load to calculate the voltage drop. It might be specified or you could measure it with a resistanace meter. If you don't have a resistance meter you could probably calculate ...

Hi--I'm new here.
I've seen plans for a DIY battery tester that tests 1.5v batteries under load. The plans required visually assessing a known light source against a light source in the tes...
you're right - it is a voltage reg, not a transducer.
The ground wire on the board seems okay and screws directly into the fridge chasis.
The solder joints on the voltage reg also seem ok...
Meanwhile thanks for the help. Even though I guess I was fatally assuming the voltage was line voltage, ie, around 115V. However that makes it possible to determine power using only a cuyrrent sensor....
Presently one other accurate voltage source I forgotten about would be a Fluke differential voltmeter, like the 893 or similar ones. They measure voltage by bucking their internal contemptibly calibrat...
The simplest way to boost voltage from a solar cell is to use several in series.
You can use zener diodes to lower voltage. They just waste the excess. You can't do that to raise the voltage.

This is hard to explain, but to check the Relay, you need to see if the Voltage is being transmitted through the Contacts.
If you have a Voltmeter, you can check ...
Where did you get this new alternator? I hope you didn't get it at

If the system is electrical, I will lean toward the variation of voltage being real. I.e., the voltage is indeed varying, but the temperature is not. Thus th...

Alternators are not self-exciting, they require an external voltage applied through the regulator. The dead battery is possibly loading the alternator enough that the voltage to the regulator is to...

Normally if a voltage regulator is bad you will get either excessive or under voltage. You need to measure the voltage on the input to the regulator or before the rectifier bridge.
