I do not know how to depress the caliper on the rear brakes of my 98 VW beetle. I tried a C-Clamp, but it did not budge. I assume it has something to do with the parking brake being attached to the back side of the caliper. I took the piston out and see that it has threds, but was not able to get it to thred all the way in so I can get new pads in place and on the rotor. Thanks in advance for the help..lance

Hi Lance welcome to the forum

I'm afraid I haven't encountered this problem before but I will try to find out for you what can be done in this case
