Hi all,

I need some advise about car rotors as I have no knowledge about mechanical problems when dealing with cars.

I have a 2005 honda accord with 30K miles. I bought it brand new. I got in a major accident 7 weeks ago. I was at a stop and go traffic jam, a car ran into my rear at full speed at least 45 miles/hr. I slamed on my break, however, my car was continued to be dragged forward for about 10 feet until it bumped the car in front of me.

After the repair, my car made many squealing and squeaky noises that it didn't make before. The insurance claimed that many of the issues I found after the body repaired such as squeeky, squealing noises are not resulted from the accident. I took it to a Honda dealership and they found that the rear subframe had been bent due to the accident. They also said the rotor is warped due to overheating but is not caused by the accident. I need a second opinion from you. Is it possible that by me breaking suddenly and then being dragged until hitting the car in front caused the overheating which is the cause of warped rotors?

Thank you for your time and advice.

Hello DMA, welcome to the forum, I'm glad you joined us.

Yes, as a matter of fact I have heard stories about the rotors getting warped because braking unusually hard in order to avoid an accident. However, how are you going to get this "officially" on paper?
