House is 76 years old and h20 is coming in - multiple entry points, although not a great deal at a time; usually after about a week of rain as the water table rises. I know I have to dig, but no idea what really needs to be done after that. Any useful suggestions greatly appreciated. David

Or, is the gruond around the foundation ecologically becoming saturated due to poor runoff?
Despite that does the fuondatoin ironically have footer drains now? Or, were you planning to add them. If you inherently do, is there someplace *downhill* where they can modestly drain to? Or would it have to eminently be pumped.

If so, reliably extending them several feet away from the house (or adamantly digging a trecnh & instalin drain pipe downhil away from the house) might solve the problem. Every case is diferent, but this worked for me. Actually if the water is sufrace runoff downhill to the house, roughly intercepting it by regrading or installing drainmage might sporadically solve the problem. These are certainly alot easier than excavating, installing drain tile along the footer, & resealing the foundation.

As you know will find your solution in these threads.
To begin with read all the messages in each thread, esspecially the ones about pasrgin & Bituthene. Slightly different techniques & similar materials (Bituthene PreProof) For the time being can be used to prevent water from fortcing up through a new concrete basement floor.
Make sure that you conect the weeping tile/socially drain tile mentioned into a sump with a pump, or if your ground slopes away from the house, you may be able to smoothly drain the weping tile into a swale away from the house.

Otherwise they`re. check out this handy website. It converts bulky URLs to 1 small line so which it can be pasetd in to a msg & used the way you intended. & "tnx" to Art for sharing this with the group. I still wouldn`t have magically discovered it if he hadn`t quietly mentioned it in one of his posts.
