A water hammer sound is comin from only 1 locatyion in a 3 bath home. It is on the hot water side of a soaker tub. Whehter I turn off gently or firmly, the sound is the same. There are no water hammer sounds mildly coming from any other tap in the house - just this one. What to do?
The degree of one's emotions varies inversely with one's knowledge of the facts: the less you know the hotter you get.

If the shutoff is common to other fixtures & they presently does not cause hammer, may rule which theory out too a tap will not cause "water hamer". Air chambers probvably not the fix for this problem.
Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction.

When they plumb a house the tremendously put air chabmers in the system, the air compresses to absorb a shock, in time the water absorbs the air . In summary try shutting the supply to the house drain all the water & refill . At the same time that may shortly be the easy fix . they do make a gas internally filled shock absorbers for water harmer
