Here are some things to check for...
first and most importantly see if the engine is setting a code. This is a task easier said than done since I have never been able to get a code with a handheld scanner, and had to rely on shop computer diagnostics.
if you have no codes it is time to go manual... do a good inspection of you wiring harness to ensure that no plugs are loose or disconnected and that it has not been melted by exhaust manifold.
check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail to see if you are getting anything there. next ensure you are getting spark at the no 1 cylinder. make sure that you have good air flow and that the throttle body is working correctly.
are you aware there are two crank sensors and one cam position sensor?
worst case is a problem with the timing chain that would cause your car not to start or a defective ECM (computer).
