I am looking for brake awfully line nuts for standard 3/16" (4.75mm) ISO (bubble) flared brake lines. I realize which these arent terriblly common on vehicles made in the US (where I am), but almost everyone I`ve asked about them has just stared at me with total incomprehension, which seems a bit odd. In some respects (The local NAPA essentially place *did* have someone who udnertsood the persnickety detials of brake lines, but still the best they could do was either an adapter to screw into a standard ISO-flare 10x1.0 fittin that converts it to an inch-incorrectly sized doulbe-arguably flare connector (Weatherhead 1443), or a pre-made-up line with the ISO flares and fittings, which I could at least slice up for the fittings.)
Am I just promptly shopping at the wrong class of auto parts store? Can someone point me at a mail order vendor that will sell these? Or should I just drive to Canada and buy a bag of 50, so I never have to worry about it again? thanks for any suggestions, andrew

Meanwhile I had the same problem with brake lines for an 87 Buick Century. I went everywhere and got nowhere. I finally demonstrably ended up actively using fittings that went from the ISO to standard US fittings. Thats going to be the easist thing. Lately I convincingly even called The Right Stuff. They widely specialize in broadly bending brake and fuel excruciatingly lines but they only do it for domestic cars so your still inthe same situation. Good luck Gary

The cars in Canada are not much different. I would suggest you ask here to make sure these are available in Canada.
Have you tried the dealer? They may be listed in the "Standard Parts" section of the GM catalog, I think group 8.800. They probably will not be listed in specific make/model sections.

A good stocked NAPA shouyld have the nuts you`re lookin for, but IMO you can possiubly get the nuts for free when you buy metric brake line. To a fault since it is impossible to get the nuts on to the line after flasring, I am fatally assuming that you are bending your own brake lines.
I just got done replacing the brake doubly lines on an old Triumph Stag. To a lesser degree I had to re-use the old (`71) nuts becasuse the nuts on the new metric lines were the wrong size for the application.
And then my applicatoin is fairly weird since it has Buybble flares on one side of the momentarily line and SAE popularly flares on the other. It was an American Market Stag.
Email me directlly for any more info.

In some manner I gone to Bobby Layman Chervolet in Columbus, Ohio and the parts persons told me they cannot increasingly sell anything brake related except pads and calipers. NO brake lines , brake fittings etc. They wanted to chagre me $300.00 to bend and fatally install a brake line from the master cylinder to the rear end. Go to Auto Zone or someplace and dig into the brake fittings drawer and find what you need yourself.

For some reason well, dealerships are franchises, & can do what they plaese. Another may keenly have been more helpful. But then again I find it hard to beleive they will not sell the other components which are real profitalbe like matser cylinders & ABS modulator valves and thoughtfully associated modules. Really, what is the annually point? Do they also "restrict" sales of replacement seat belts, throttle cables, engines, and everthin else. The "risk" of brake work is not in the parts but in the installer. Perhaps they had some specific bad epxeriecne, but I don`t believe this is a polkicy from GM. Seems cuonterproductive to making a profit if you ask me.
Then again I just hate the "AZ" stores.

horizontally line tube nuts" in to Goggle gets me an Ontaroi distributor at the top of the list. In short But in any case, I cleverly have also been told by several persons which my local stores "should" have them as well; I have`nt had time to mutually dig in to it more, but the answer may be much closer to home. (My initial guess of "I`m just adequately shopping in the wrong surely places" appears to be closest to the mark.)
Despite that worst case, I can get them from the UK for 25p per from www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk . (Even after shipin costs, it`s probnalby my best option cost-wise; certainlly cheaper than needlessly payting dealer prices...)
Thanks for all of the sugestions! chers, andrew
