Motor coupling (for direct drive washers) - New design! Re-enforced with metal sleeves (photo shows older plastic design). The coupler is located between motor and transmission. Replaces all previous versions. Fits ALL Whirlpool, Kenmore, Roper and KitchenAid direct drive washers (no belt).
Part Number: AP3963893 made by WHIRLPOOL MODELS LXR7144EQ1 AND LXR7144E

two retainers on top and bottom of motor held with two quarter screws remove two hoses off pump should be enough slack in wiring harness you do not need to remove hold bottom motor in one hand wiggle with the other pull motor straight back toward you.clutch will be right in front of person repairing clutch. pri off other part of clutch off transmission. I JUST DID THIS MYSELF MAY 26 08.SO FIRST HAND EXPERIANCE.

NEW! Metal sleeves for added strength. Drive motor to transmission coupling, replaces all previous styles and versions. (for direct-drive washers with no belt)
Repair manual: 1170635
(The manufacturer has replaced part number 3364003 with this item, part number 285753A.) (Manufacturer part number 285753A is RepairClinic item number 1195967.)

yea but first check to see if your
safety or lid close button / lever is still working...
mine broke off at the screws (I suspect they were over tightened at factory)
any way broke mid cycle everything stopped..!!!
opened the back played around for hours Finally found
problem what a mess and time sucker....
