Just sharing my experience. I've recently lost my husband and needed to learn how to use the snowthrower. I've discover that my Toro as a gear problem. I only have two very slow forward gears at the bottom of the gear cover and no neutral. In addition, the machine has four very fast reverse gears at the top causing the machine to knock me over several times and has pinned my legs up against my garage, my truck, and the wood pile. Alarmed and realizing something was very wrong, I called a local Toro dealer who was pretty certain that the problem is in the linkage, which is an easy repair.

I'm also looking for other Toro owners who have had this linkage problem. I don't want pay for service if this linkage problem is a manufacturing flaw. Sorry for the long reply.
