I'm going to install an exhaust fan with light in my bathroom. Right now I have 1 switch that controls lights above the sink. I am going to keep them. I purchased a 3 function switch *not a 3 way switch* It's the same size as a single light switch but has 3 "rockers" and each rocker will control something different 1. light above sink, 2. exhaust fan 3. light on exhaust fan. So.... my question is how do I wire this??? There is a black screw on one side of the switch and 3 silver screws on the other side. There are only 2 wires on the fan/light assy. A white & blue wire.

Hi lucky8926,welcome to the forum.

There is too much variety in each house in regards to wiring to have anything reliable to advise regarding this subject. The best you can do is buy a book about electrics that holds schematics and multiple options - for existing wiring conditiions in your home already.

I'm sorry about this unsatisfactory answer but it really is a too potentially dangerous subject to be guessing about.

Been there done that. I've got basic knowledge about wiring but i've never wired something like this. Show me where you want an outlet I can have it done but this has me stumped!!! I'm sure someone can tell me how this should be done.

The only logical thing to do if nobody else have had this experienced is to contact the manufacturer of the exhaust fan. I did find something like that online from a manufacturer - but obviously i don't know the brand you purchased.

Have a look here, please

I might do that, thanks for the info!! It's a Broan by the way, as is the switch.

So do you think if I contact them they will give me a wiring diagram or explain how to do it. I think they would, especially since all the stuff is made by broan....

Yes, of course. That's customer service. If they don't they are creating a bad name for themselves I would think...

You are welcome. My pleasure

Hmmm. . . that looks bad Maybe a phone-call would be more effective? (they can't 'overlook' you that way)
