I was listening to a CD through my Yamaha amp AV-80Y and every once in a while I would get a loud Snapping noise (like arcing) through the speakers. Turned it off and back on and there was no output at all. Was wondering if anyone had any ideas were to start troubleshooting. Thanks

sound like outputs thats how they sound when they go and is just one side to.which does it have output ic stk or sk ????.or does it have transistors.if transistors change them all outputs and the predrivers.check power supply for plus and minus voltages.after you unsolder out puts.their my be output caps depending on the design like 470 or 4700 uf 75 to 250 volts depends on power out put in watts. Be on the emitter of the npn and collector of pnp transistor. i do not have a print for that.basiclly their all the same one way or the other.i have done it so long i can tell by looking at the board layout and amp lay out.

p.s.
if it has output fuses and their are blow one side or the other will tell
you which pair of trans that are blown.or what output if an ic
