Open the cover on the remote. There should be a button there. Press and hold that button until LED on remote lights up. Then on the back panel of your garage door opener, press the program button. Program light should turn on. Back to your remote, press the button that you are going to use and release if the LED light on the remote turns off. You will be doing this 9 times. After the ninth press, the door will try to move so make sure nothing is in the way. It will also be best if the door is closed when you are trying to program.

I have a model 3018 Wayne Dalton garage door opener which I am attempting to connect with a clicker Universal garage door remote. Are they compatible? I am following the instructions, that came with the universal garage door remote, they do not appear to be compatible.

You cannot program a universal "clicker" to a Wayne Dalton Quantum. I tried and after a while checked the Chamberlain website and it lists many Wayne Daltons that are NOT compatible. 😤 http://chamberlain.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/4905/~/clicker-klik1u,-klik3u-and-klik2u-compatibility-matrix

As mentioned in the thread a Universal remote will not work. I tried the same thing with one I bought at home depot and had to take it back. Someone else said to get one off Amazon and I did and that worked. For 26 dollars it's the Wayne Dalton 303mhz 309884 297134 Garage Door Opener. Your only option at this point.

Carlos. what remote are you using, the one from Home Depot will not work. If it is the one off Amazon I can help.
